Brunch in Pattaya — Where to Go on Pratumnak Hill

The Lunch Box Cafe on Pratumnak Hill is the brunch spot in Pattaya. Open from 8am daily at 338/6 Pratumnak Road, 150 metres below the Big Buddha.

Most places in Pattaya that call themselves brunch are hotel buffets. Trays of food under heat lamps, cooked at 6am, eaten at 10am. The Lunch Box cooks when you order. There is a difference and you will taste it.

What Is on the Menu

Full English Breakfast at ฿295. Two eggs, two rashers of back bacon, two pork sausages, grilled mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, Branston baked beans, two slices of toast. Tea or coffee included. This is not a hotel sausage. It is a pork sausage. That is not a small thing.

Small English Breakfast at ฿195. One egg, one rasher, one sausage, baked beans, toast. Tea or coffee included. The right call if you had a big night or a small appetite.

Scrambled Eggs and Bacon at ฿285. Made to order. Not pre-scrambled.

Avocado and Bacon Toast at ฿185. On multigrain sourdough.

Boiled Eggs and Avocado at ฿255.

Poached Eggs on Toast at ฿125. Two poached eggs on multigrain sourdough. The simplest thing on the menu and usually the best indicator of how a kitchen actually performs.

Cold-pressed juices from ฿115. Made in-house. Orange, apple, green, red beet detox, yellow turmeric. Fourteen varieties. Not from a carton.

The laminated menu has photos. Point at what you want. You get what you see.

Why Pratumnak Hill

Central Beach Road has brunch options. Most of them are tourist traps with photos of food that do not match what arrives at the table. Jomtien is quieter but scattered.

Pratumnak Hill is where people who live in Pattaya eat. The Lunch Box is on the main road up the hill, opposite the Tesco Lotus. Be House Cafe is 203 metres away. Ringside Cafe is 315 metres. Wolf and Shark is 347 metres. It is the densest cluster of decent cafes in Pattaya, in the quietest part of the city.

The Lunch Box is the only place on the hill running a full Western brunch menu with a proper cold-press juice bar in the same kitchen.

After Brunch

Walk 150 metres up the road to the Big Buddha. Free entry, good views over Pattaya Bay, five minutes on foot.

Walk 800 metres down the hill to Dongtan Beach. The calmest beach in Pattaya. No jet ski harassment at the waterline.

Both are walkable from the table. No taxi required.
